The Customs and Border Control (C&BC) Department has reported a significant revenue milestone, collecting KSh 879.329 billion for the 2024/25 financial year. This reflects an impressive 11.1% growth compared to the previous period.
The department averaged a daily revenue collection of KSh 3.5 billion, underscoring strengthened enforcement measures, improved compliance, and digitalization of clearance processes.
The surge in collections is attributed to enhanced cargo scanning, risk-based inspections, and tighter border surveillance aimed at sealing revenue leakages.
Officials also credited increased trade volumes, efficient service delivery at ports of entry, and collaboration with other government agencies for the record performance.
The revenue boost is expected to support national development priorities and ease fiscal pressure on the exchequer amid growing budgetary demands.
