Exclusive Conservation-Focused Luxury Lodge Opens in Laikipia

Sustainable luxury tourism brand &Beyond has officially launched its newest retreat in Kenya — the &Beyond Suyian Lodge, located on 44,000 acres of private wilderness within the Suyian Conservancy in Laikipia.

The lodge marks a significant step in conservation-driven tourism, offering guests rare wildlife experiences and complete exclusivity.

Designed to blend into the dramatic Laikipia escarpment, the 14-suite lodge features private plunge pools, sweeping views, and interiors crafted with local materials, including Samburu beadwork and wild dog-inspired finishes.

Guests can expect a curated range of activities beyond traditional safaris, from walking with herders and horseback safaris to yoga on rock outcrops and conservation talks.

“From the architecture to the experiences, this is Kenya reimagined,” said &Beyond Executive Chairman Joss Kent. “Suyian is for the traveller seeking more than a checklist.”

The conservancy, a former cattle ranch now rewilded, is home to some of northern Kenya’s rarest species, including African wild dogs, Grevy’s zebra, and the elusive black leopard.

It is managed by the Suyian Conservancy Trust, a Kenyan not-for-profit, under a plan approved by the Kenya Wildlife Service, with oversight from conservation charity Space for Giants.

The partnership with Space for Giants aims to turn Suyian into a self-sustaining model of conservation through high-end tourism.

“Every guest directly supports wildlife protection and local community development,” said Dr. Max Graham, CEO of Space for Giants.
