Tusker FC have bolstered their defensive ranks with the signing of highly rated right-back Eugene Ikutwa from Bidco United, the club confirmed on Thursday.
The 22-year-old defender has penned a two-year contract with the Ruaraka-based side ahead of the new season, becoming the Brewers’ second signing after midfielder Vincent Owino.
Ikutwa has earned widespread acclaim for his composure on the ball, aerial strength, and pace along the flanks. Over the past two seasons, he has been a standout performer at Bidco United, emerging as one of the Kenyan Premier League’s most promising young defenders.
“We are thrilled to bring Eugene on board,” said Tusker FC head coach Charles Okere. “He is a talented and disciplined player who fits perfectly into our style of play. His arrival will give us more options at the back and help us in our push for silverware this season.”
Speaking after completing the move, Ikutwa expressed pride and ambition in joining one of Kenya’s most successful clubs.
“It’s an honor to join Tusker FC and I am delighted,” he said. “Growing up, you always dream of playing for a big club, and Tusker is one of those. This team is known for its winning tradition, and I want to challenge myself at that level. I’m ready to give everything for the badge.”
With preseason preparations in full swing, Tusker FC believe Ikutwa’s arrival will inject fresh energy into the squad as they set their sights on reclaiming domestic glory.
