Trans Nzoia Governor Natembeya Hosts CRA Chair to Boost Public Participation in County Budgeting

Governor George Natembeya of Trans Nzoia County hosted Mrs. Mary Chebukati, Chairperson of the Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA), for a courtesy visit at his office on Thursday morning.

The meeting focused on strengthening the County Budget and Economic Forum (CBEF) to enhance public participation in the budget-making process. Both leaders emphasized the importance of maintaining the forum as a robust platform for inclusive, transparent, and accountable decision-making.

Governor Natembeya highlighted the need for active citizen engagement to ensure county budgets reflect local priorities, while Chebukati underscored CRA’s commitment to supporting counties in improving fiscal governance and community involvement.

“The discussions are part of ongoing efforts to deepen transparency and ensure that public resources are allocated in a manner that benefits all citizens,” Governor Natembeya said in a statement shared on his official social media account.

The engagement signals continued collaboration between national and county institutions to strengthen participatory governance and effective utilization of public funds across Trans Nzoia County.
