Shabana Day: ‘Tore Bobe’ To Paint Gusii Stadium Red

Shabana Football Club is gearing up for its biggest annual celebration as Gusii Stadium in Kisii County prepares to host Shabana Day on Sunday, 7 September 2025.

The event, themed “Driving the Future One Goal, One Dream,” promises a vibrant mix of football, entertainment, and community spirit.

On Saturday, Shabana FC Secretary General Elizaphan Kerama and Nominated Senator Esther Okenyuri inspected the stadium ahead of the festivities.

The club confirmed it will use the occasion to unveil its latest signings before the start of the 2025/2026 Kenyan Premier League season, following what officials described as a successful pre-season tour in Uganda.

The highlight of the day will be a friendly match pitting Shabana against Tanzanian side Pamba Jiji FC.

Alongside the football action, fans can look forward to live entertainment, cultural performances, raffles, merchandise stalls, and a meet and greet with current players and club legends.

But the event carries a purpose beyond celebration.

The club is appealing to supporters to help raise funds for a modern team bus, aimed at improving player welfare and travel logistics. Proceeds will also go toward supporting the squad’s preparations for the upcoming season.

Shabana heads into the new campaign on the back of a strong 2024/25 season.

The Kisii-based side finished fifth in the final table with 53 points, having won 14 matches, drawn 11, and lost 9.

Officials say the performance laid a solid foundation for building a competitive squad capable of challenging the league’s traditional powerhouses.

“Shabana Day is more than just a celebration. It is a chance for fans to come together, back the team, and demonstrate the unstoppable spirit of Tore Bobe,” Kerama said in a statement.
