At the heart of North Africa, during the recently concluded Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) 2025 in Algiers, Kenya emerged not just as a participant but as a visionary.
With the theme of African unity through trade resonating across the summit halls, Kenya took center stage, unveiling a bold, pragmatic vision aimed at accelerating intra-continental commerce, empowering SMEs, and leveraging the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to unlock untapped economic potential.
Led by a high-level delegation from Nairobi, Kenya’s showcase included a dynamic mix of public-private partnerships, investment opportunities, innovation-driven enterprises, and strategic policies aimed at strengthening regional value chains. From agribusiness to fintech, manufacturing to logistics, Kenya’s pavilion buzzed with energy, optimism, and a deep commitment to a borderless African market.
Speaking at one of the summit’s high-level panels, Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry noted, “Kenya believes in an Africa that trades more with itself than with the rest of the world. The AfCFTA is not just a policy framework—it’s our future.”
As the curtains came down on IATF 2025 in Algiers, excitement shifted toward the announcement that Nigeria will host the next edition, IATF 2027. The handover ceremony was symbolic not just in leadership, but in a shared continental dream.
With Lagos poised to welcome thousands of traders, investors, and policymakers in two years, Kenya’s strong presence in Algiers set the tone for a new era of African collaboration.
The East African economic powerhouse’s message was clear: trade is not just business it is unity, opportunity, and transformation.
