Nyeri to Host KCB East Africa Golf Series this Weekend

Nyeri Golf Course, in the heart of Nyeri town, will this weekend host the 19th leg of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour as golfers continue to battle for coveted slots in the tour’s grand finale.

More than 250 golfers are expected to participate in Saturday’s tournament, with action teeing off at 6:30 am for the morning round and resuming at 12:30 pm for the afternoon session.

Speaking ahead of the event, Nyeri Golf Club Captain Jacob Nyaga said: “Our course is in pristine condition. Nyeri has become a hub for key golf events in the region. The KCB Golf Series attracts a large number of participants, so we can expect a good outing this weekend. It will be competitive, fun, and
interactive.”

The regional tournament has so far traversed over 10 counties in Kenya and expanded into Burundi and Uganda.

To date, the series has drawn more than 2,000 participants and impacted over 1,000 juniors through concurrent golf clinics aimed at nurturing young talent.

KCB Group Director of Marketing and Communications, Rosalind Gichuru, emphasized the bank’s close ties with the Nyeri golfing community:

“Nyeri is always home to us. For the third consecutive year, our series is being held at this esteemed club, showcasing the amazing relationship we share. We expect a huge turnout on Saturday through to Monday, when we will also host the caddie tournament.”

On Sunday, KCB will host over 100 juniors for a golf clinic, giving young players hands-on exposure to the sport. In the afternoon, participants will join a tree planting exercise, reinforcing the bank’s

commitment to embedding sustainability at the heart of the series. The action will extend into Monday, when more than 120 caddies are expected to take part in a caddie tournament, following the successful event recently staged by KCB in Nakuru.
