Social Health Authority (SHA) Chairperson Dr. Abdi Mohamed has announced the appointment of four senior directors to the health body.
In a statement issued on Friday, September 12, 2025, the SHA Board confirmed the appointments following a competitive and transparent recruitment process that began on July 29, 2025.
“The Social Health Authority Board is pleased to announce the appointment of four new Directors following a competitive and transparent recruitment process that began on 29th July, 2025,” read the notice in part.
The new appointees are:
- Dr. Diana Marion – Director, Provider and Beneficiary Management
- Ms. Golda Larissa Akolo – Director, Benefits and Claims Management
- Mr. Mohamed Alio Ibrahim – Director, Corporate Services
- Mr. Jonathan Leisen – Director, Funds and Finance Management
According to the Board, the directors bring a wealth of experience that will be vital in helping SHA achieve its mandate of providing financial risk protection for Kenyan residents and ensuring access to quality healthcare.
“The Board would like to express its profound gratitude to the staff for their unwavering dedication and support provided to the interim senior management team during the transition period,” the statement added.
The appointment comes after the authority conducted interviews between Tuesday September 9 and Wednesday September 10, 2025, at the Social Health Authority Headquarters, 10th Floor Boardroom in Nairobi.
Dr. Diana Marion is a qualified and experienced medical professional specializing in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She holds an M.Med in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the University of Nairobi (2016) and an MBChB from Moi University (2008).
She is also the secretary general of the Kenya Medical Association (KMA).
According to the SHA board, a total of 494 applications were received for the roles of Director of Provider and Beneficiary Management, Director of Benefits and Claims Management, Director of Corporate Services, and Director of Funds and Finance Management.
Of these, 38 candidates were shortlisted for interviews.
SHA had earlier announced mass job opportunities, consisting of 507 positions, some of which require a minimum qualification of Grade D.
In a notice dated Friday, September 12, 2025, the Authority called on qualified personnel to apply.
“To enhance institutional capacity and deliver on its mandate, the SHA Board seeks to recruit visionary, result-driven, and experienced professionals for the following Senior Management positions,” read the notice.
According to the Authority, among the advertised positions requiring Grade D qualifications are Senior Driver roles, with three positions available.
