Kenya, Estonia Hold Bilateral Talks to Boost Digital and Economic Cooperation

Kenya has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening ties with Estonia following high-level bilateral talks held in Nairobi. Deputy Director General Judy Njau, Head of the Europe and Commonwealth Directorate, hosted Estonia’s Ambassador to Kenya, H.E. Daniel Erik Schaer, for discussions aimed at exploring new areas of collaboration.

The meeting focused on deepening cooperation in economic development, digital transformation, and information technology sectors where Estonia is globally renowned for its success.

Estonia’s near-total digitization of government services was highlighted as an innovation model that could guide Kenya’s ongoing efforts to modernize and digitize public service delivery.

Both parties expressed a shared vision of leveraging technology to enhance governance efficiency, spur economic growth, and create new opportunities for citizens.

They also committed to building on existing partnerships to deliver tangible outcomes that will contribute to sustainable development and mutual prosperity.

Kenya reiterated its eagerness to work closely with Estonia, translating lessons from the European nation’s digital transformation journey into impactful solutions for its own public sector.
