Three people have been charged at the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi over an alleged attempt to steal more than Sh2.7 million from a Family Bank branch.
Victor Moses Wainaina Kinyua, Dennis Mwangi Machina, and Caroline Muthoni Kiarie were accused of attempting to steal Sh2,762,040 belonging to Sharon Sawe at Family Bank Towers and the bank’s KTDA branch within Nairobi’s Central Business District on September 5, 2025.
The charge sheet indicates that the suspects, together with others not before court, attempted to commit the offence contrary to Section 389 as read with Section 268(1) and Section 275 of the Penal Code.
The three denied the charges and were released on a cash bond of Sh500,000 with a surety of a similar amount, or alternatively, a cash bail of Sh100,000.
The case is scheduled for mention at a later date.
