Rosemary Wanjiru Wins Women’s Berlin Marathon in 2:21:04

Kenya’s Rosemary Wanjiru claimed victory in the women’s race at the 2025 Berlin Marathon, clocking 2:21:04 to secure her first major Berlin title.

Wanjiru, who has steadily risen through the global distance running ranks, delivered a commanding performance on the streets of Berlin, holding off a competitive field to cross the finish line well clear of her rivals.

The Tokyo Marathon champion in 2023, where she clocked 2:16:28, Wanjiru also impressed in her marathon debut at Berlin in 2022, finishing second in 2:18:00. Earlier in her career, she won the 2019 Bloomsday 12K and Cherry Blossom Ten Mile in the US, and a silver medal in the 5000m at the 2015 African Games.
