Tomorrow, Friday 26th September, the party that ruled Kenya between 2013 and 2017 will give 2027 political direction.
Even before then, doubts galore over the Jubilee Party machinations that include awarding the presidential ticket to Dr. Fred Matiang’i, retired President Kenyatta’s protégé.
But now there is a problem. Jubilee has been tagged to UDA as part of President Ruto’s two term strategy.
According to DCP Deputy Party Leader SG Cleophas Malala, the new Jubilee energy is linked to the President’s two term strategy; weaken Rigathi’s influence in GEMA, split the vote, divert Gachagua’s support and lessen the impact of the GEMA vote to Ruto.
Ruto is the political son of former President Moi. Moi would have lost to Jaramogi Oginga or Matiba.
But he strategically created a division in FORD and deployed then AG Amos Wako and NIS boss Wilson Boinet to infiltrate and trigger irreconcilable differences.
Retired President Uhuru and his successor now meet regularly. Someone must have brokered a truce. Jeremiah Kioni is no longer taking selfies with Kalonzo, Riggy G and Wamalwa.
Reason? Kioni is Uhuru. And so is Eugene Wamalwa. They look to have instructions to rock the opposition.
It will be recalled that Dr. Matiang”i was given amnesty by the Kalenjin mafia in 2023. He was allowed to travel to US when he was under active investigation
Then there was the Karen raid in the house of Uhuru’s son Jomo, and the recovery of a cache of guns.
Then then the silent behind the tent settlement. The invasion was blamed to Gachagua, but Ruto men intervened to give the Uhuru family dignity.
