The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened its portal for applications to the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) programmes.
In a notice on Wednesday, October 1, KUCCPS invited students to submit their applications through the Student’s Portal for placement to various KMTC courses.
According to KUCCPS, the application window will run from October 1 to October 14.
To apply, students are required to log in to the portal via students.kuccps.ac.ke and complete the application process before the deadline.
The programmes are Certificate in Medical Engineering, Certificate in Orthopedic Trauma Medicine, Diploma in Mortuary Science, Certificate in Health Records and Information Technology, Certificate in Medical Emergency Technician, Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Certificate in Public Health, Diploma in Physiotherapy, Diploma in Community Health, and Diploma in Radiography & Imaging.
Other programmes offered include Certificate in Nutrition & Dietetics, Certificate in Community Health Assistant, Diploma in Public Health, Diploma in Medical Social Work, Diploma in Nutrition & Dietetics, Diploma in Occupational Therapy, Diploma in Health Counselling, Diploma in Medical Engineering, Diploma in Pharmacy, and Diploma in Health Records and Information Technology.
The list also features Diploma in Orthopaedic Technology, Diploma in Speech and Language Therapy, Diploma in Health Promotion, and Certificate in Health Insurance Management.
This comes days after KMTC announced fully sponsored training opportunities, in collaboration with the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) and the County Government of Turkana, for individuals seeking to upgrade their qualifications in Community Health Nursing.
In a statement on Monday, September 29, KMTC CEO Kelly Oluoch said the program, set to commence in September for the 2025/2026 academic year, targets both the local community in Turkana County and the refugee community in Kakuma and Kalobeyei Refugee Camps.
The scholarship will cover full tuition for all successful applicants, with training scheduled to take place at KMTC’s Lodwar Campus.
The course being offered is the Upgrading Diploma in Community Health Nursing (Distance Learning), which will run for a period of two years.
To qualify for the program, applicants must meet several mandatory requirements, including holding a Certificate in Community Health Nursing.
They must also have at least two years of post-certificate work experience and be registered by the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).
In addition, applicants must either be from Turkana County or from the Kakuma or Kalobeyei Refugee Camps.
Those applying must also present a letter of introduction from the area Chief, in the case of local applicants, or from a manager or UNHCR official for those from the refugee camps.
Applications are required to be submitted to the Chief Executive Officer of KMTC through the KMTC online application portal, with the deadline set for October 9, 2025.
The college emphasized that only applications submitted through the official portal will be considered.
In terms of the application process, candidates must first visit the KMTC admissions website at https://admissions.kmtc.ac.ke.
Those who already have an account on the portal can log in using their email and password.
However, applicants who do not yet have an account are required to register by clicking on the register button at the top right-hand corner of the site, which will direct them to the account creation form.
They will then be required to enter their name, email address, and a password that they can easily remember, after which they must click on the ‘Create Account’ button.
Once the account has been created, applicants should proceed to fill in the online application form step by step until it is fully completed.
After filling in the details, they must click on the submit button. They will then be provided with a duly filled form to confirm their data.
Applicants are required to carefully check the accuracy of the information provided, and once satisfied, click ‘Save Changes.’
From the dashboard, they must then select the option ‘Apply UNHCR Scholarship’ and proceed to fill in the required information, including the UNHCR form.
Once this has been completed, the applicants should print out the duly filled form, attach all relevant documents, and ensure the form is signed and stamped accordingly before uploading it back to the portal.
Applicants from Kakuma and Kalobeyei refugee camps are required to indicate their country of origin when filling in the biodata under the nationality section.
Additionally, when entering information under county, sub-county, and constituency, they should select the option ‘Foreign.’
