By Michelle Ndaga

Kenya and the World Health Organization (WHO) have reviewed progress on the establishment of the WHO Africa Regional Emergency Operations and Logistics Hub and the Eastern Africa Regional Coordinating Centre.

The meeting was led by the Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni, together with the WHO team.

Discussions focused on the current status of implementation and the next steps required to ensure timely completion and operationalisation of the centres.

Kenya has already allocated land for the two facilities, underscoring the government’s strong commitment to their development.

Once completed, the facilities will play a critical role in strengthening regional health security and enhancing emergency preparedness and response capacity.
