Public Outrage as Pastor Ng’ang’a’s Viral Sermon Sparks Calls for Investigation

By Michelle Ndaga

A video circulating on social media has triggered widespread public condemnation after Neno Evangelism Centre pastor James Ng’ang’a made deeply troubling remarks during a recent sermon in Nairobi.

The video captures Pastor James Ng’ang’a describing his involvement in the gang rape of a woman with seven other men, as part of his testimony on past crimes and redemption.

The remarks drew laughter and affirmations from congregants, prompting outrage from Kenyans online who have called for a formal investigation.

Pastor Ng’ang’a, known for his controversial preaching style and past inflammatory comments, has not issued a formal response following the viral backlash.

The incident has reignited debate over accountability among religious leaders and the need for stricter oversight of sermons that could normalize or trivialize gender-based violence.
