Police officers in Bungoma County have seized approximately 30 kilograms of cannabis sativa and arrested two suspects following an intelligence-led operation carried out early on Thursday morning.

The operation took place in the Township Sub-Location of Kanduyi Location, where officers intercepted a motorcycle transporting suspicious luggage. Upon inspection, the officers discovered a sack containing the narcotics carefully concealed to evade detection.

Two male suspects, aged 25 and 28, were immediately arrested at the scene. They were taken to Bungoma Police Station, where they are currently being held in custody.

Authorities confirmed that the suspects will be arraigned at the Bungoma Law Courts once investigations are completed.

The National Police Service (NPS) praised the officers involved for their vigilance and swift response, noting that the operation reflects ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking and related criminal activities across the country.
