ODM Communications Director Philip Etale has appealed to members of the public to help identify a man caught on camera stealing valuable equipment from an Azimio TV van.
In a statement on Tuesday, October 21, Etale said the theft occurred at Total Energies in Hurlingham, where the Azimio TV crew had parked their van for cleaning while waiting for the arrival of the late Raila Odinga’s body at Lee Funeral Home.
“Someone please help us identify the man captured by the CCTV cameras at Total Energies Hurlingham.
“He walked into the carwash where the AzimioTv van was being cleaned as the crew awaited the arrival of the body of HE Raila Odinga at Lee Funeral Home and took the bag that had vital equipment including a laptop and hard drives that contained a lot,” he said.
Etale noted that the suspect appeared calm and deliberate in his actions, walking away from the scene without raising any suspicion.
He urged anyone with information about the individual in the CCTV footage to come forward, noting that they will be rewarded.
“The man is wearing black and is seen walking nonchalantly as if he has done nothing. We shall appreciate,” he added.
Police have not yet made an arrest, and it remains unclear whether the suspect acted alone.
Anyone with information is urged to contact local law enforcement or reach out directly to ODM officials.
