Princess Lalla Asmaa of the Kingdom of Morocco has landed in Kenya for an official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.
According to a statement by First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto on Tuesday, November 4, the royal visit reflects the warm friendship between Kenya and Morocco, as well as their shared commitment to community uplift initiatives, particularly in the areas of health, education, and child empowerment.
“Karibu Kenya, Your Royal Highness Princess Lalla Asmaa of the Kingdom of Morocco,” Mama Rachel Ruto said in her statement.

“This visit is a reflection of the warm friendship between our two nations, and our shared commitment to community uplift initiatives, particularly in the areas of health, education, and child empowerment.”

The First Lady expressed her honor in hosting the Moroccan princess and indicated her anticipation for productive engagements during the royal visit.
“It is an honour to host you, Your Royal Highness, and I look forward to productive engagements during your stay in Kenya,” she added.

This comes a day after a delegation of specialized surgeons from Morocco arrived in Kenya for a week-long medical mission focused on assisting children with hearing impairments.
The Ministry of Health confirmed on Monday, November 3, that a visiting medical team would conduct cochlear implant surgeries at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) throughout the week, targeting more than 50 children suffering from hearing loss.
Moroccan specialists are collaborating with local Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) experts from KNH from November 3 to 7, 2025, in a joint effort to restore hearing and improve the quality of life for affected children.
Cochlear implant surgery is a specialized medical procedure designed to assist individuals with severe or profound hearing loss. The procedure involves implanting an electronic device that directly stimulates the auditory nerve, enabling the recipient to perceive sound.
The device comprises two main components: an external part worn behind the ear and an internal part surgically implanted under the skin and into the inner ear.
