AKA Murder: Two Brothers Formally Charged After Extradition

Two brothers, Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande, have been formally charged in Durban over the murders of South African rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend, businessman Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.

The brothers, extradited from Eswatini after lengthy legal proceedings, face 20 counts including murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and firearms offences.

They are also linked to other violent crimes, among them the killing of a taxi boss in Amanzimtoti near Durban.

Their extradition took place on November 11, 2025, at King Shaka International Airport under tight security, with Interpol officials from both South Africa and Eswatini coordinating the handover.

The suspects were later transported to Durban Central Police Station before appearing in the Durban Magistrate’s Court.

Prosecutors confirmed the pair will stand trial alongside five other co-accused over the February 2023 killings of AKA and Tibz, who were gunned down outside a Durban restaurant.

Additional murder and attempted murder charges were also confirmed.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe praised the cooperation between South African and Eswatini authorities, the National Prosecuting Authority, and Interpol.

The brothers are expected to return to court on November 25 as investigations continue into the broader network behind the killings.
