The latest Associated Press Top 25 college football poll saw significant movement behind its steady top four, with Oregon climbing back into the national elite and the Atlantic Coast Conference showcasing its depth.
For a sixth consecutive week, Ohio State, Indiana, and Texas A&M held the top three spots, with Georgia remaining at No. 4. Oregon leaped over idle Mississippi to claim the No. 5 ranking, bolstering its playoff resume with a decisive 15-point victory over then-No. 16 USC.
The ACC emerged as a major storyline, placing five teams in the rankings for the second time this season. Miami led the conference contingent at No. 13, followed by Virginia at No. 17.
The biggest fall belonged to Georgia Tech, which tumbled eight spots to No. 23 after a second loss in three games.
Ohio State, heading into its rivalry game at No. 15 Michigan, retained the No. 1 ranking for the 13th straight week, receiving 58 of 66 first-place votes.
