A tornado touched down in a residential area near Houston on Monday, damaging more than 100 homes in the Memorial Northwest neighborhood, authorities reported. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Photos and drone footage released by the Harris County constable’s office showed significant damage, with roofs stripped of shingles and debris blocking roads. The Houston Fire Department dispatched a specialized team to clear toppled trees from the area.
The event occurred as the National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for southeastern Texas, warning of severe thunderstorms in the region. The community is now beginning the cleanup process in the wake of the storm.
