Activist Releases Arrest Video, Countering White House ‘Manipulated’ Clip

MINNEAPOLIS

A Minnesota civil rights activist released unedited video of her arrest Friday, directly challenging a manipulated image the White House had posted online a day earlier to discredit her.

The White House social media account shared a photo Thursday of attorney Nekima Levy Armstrong crying as she was escorted by a blurred federal officer, captioned: “Arrested far-left agitator Nekima Levy Armstrong for orchestrating church riots in Minnesota.”

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s account posted the same image, but with Levy Armstrong appearing expressionless.

Levy Armstrong was arrested after an anti-ICE protest disrupted a church service where an immigration official also pastors. She and another arrested protester, St. Paul school board member Chauntyll Allen, were released Friday.

In response, Levy Armstrong published her own footage, recorded by her husband, which shows federal agents approaching to detain her.

The move counters the administration’s narrative and highlights a growing dispute over how the arrest—and the protest against immigration enforcement—is being portrayed to the public.
