The National Police Service (NPS) Internal Affairs Unit (IAU) has recommended administrative action against several senior police officers following investigations into the Nandi Hills pool incident captured on CCTV footage.
In its findings, the IAU cites command, supervisory, and operational lapses linked to the incident.
Officers recommended for action include the Tinderet Sub-County Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD), the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Songoh, the OCS Nandi Hills, and three other officers in charge of security units based in Songoh.
“This action deliberately focuses on local commanders to ensure they are held fully accountable for all conduct within their jurisdictions. There will be no tolerance for such misconduct,” NPS Spokesperson Muchiri Nyaga stated.

“The recommendations have been forwarded to the Inspector General of Police for consideration and action in line with existing disciplinary procedures.”
The probe focused on accountability at the local command level, examining conduct before, during, and after the incident.
The NPS says the move reflects its commitment to professionalism, accountability, and maintaining public trust.
It has reiterated that misconduct or failure in supervision will not be tolerated and that due process will be followed as the affected officers respond to the findings.
