Harambee Stars defender Collins Sichenje has completed a transfer to English EFL Championship side Charlton Athletic from Serbian club FK Vojvodina.

Sichenje joins Charlton for an undisclosed fee. The managing director of Charlton Athletic, James Rodwell, revealed they had been tracking Sichenje for a long time and originally planned to sign him in the summer, but the opportunity arose to bring him in earlier.

He joins the English club from FK Vojvodina, a top-flight side in Serbia, where he had been a key part of their defence since joining in 2024, initially on loan from Swedish club AIK before making the move permanent.

Sichenje expressed his excitement about the move, stating, “It feels amazing to be here. It’s a good club with a good project, and I’m ready to start working. It’s a big step for my career”.

Charlton’s manager, Nathan Jones, described Sichenje as an “aggressive, front-footed centre-back” who, at 22, has the potential to grow with the club.

Sichenje’s career trajectory has seen him play for AFC Leopards in Kenya, have spells in Greek and Finnish football, and most recently, succeed in Serbia before moving to the English Championship.
