Detectives from the DCI Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) in Mombasa have arrested two suspected traffickers and recovered 250 grammes of heroin following an intelligence-led operation in Nyali.

The operation was mounted after detectives received credible information linking the suspects to narcotics trafficking and suspected child trafficking activities.

Officers carried out the targeted raid at a house in Maweni Estate, Nyali, believed to be used to facilitate the illegal operations.

A search of the premises led to the recovery of three sachets containing heroin, weighing approximately 250 grammes.

Two suspects, identified as Amir Latf and Ruhman Abubakar, were arrested at the scene.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects are linked to narcotics trafficking networks operating in Mombasa, Malindi and Nairobi.

Detectives are also pursuing leads relating to suspected involvement in child trafficking.

The suspects are currently being held in police custody as they undergo processing ahead of arraignment in court.
