Lang’ata MP Jalang’o Declares Bid to Challenge Edwin Sifuna for Nairobi Senate Seat

Lang’ata Constituency MP, Mr. Phelix Odiwuor commonly referred to as Jalang’o, has announced that he will contest for the senatorial seat in Nairobi County in the 2027 General Election.

He noted that he was ready for the contest and was prepared to compete against current Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna if the time came.

Speaking in an interview on Radio 47’s Breakfast Show on Tuesday, Jalang’o stated that his decision was informed by his move around town, engaging with people and listening to their concerns.

He said that his work among people in various parts of Nairobi has been his confidence builder that he can give service to the people at a higher capacity.

“Mimi huamua na naendea. Mimi nakuambia naezakuwa gavana huko Nairobi na naeza kuwa seneta huko Nairobi na naeza kuwa mbunge wa Lang’ata na naweza kuwa mbunge wa pahali popote huko Nairobi. Maanake nimetembea, nimeskia

His claim implies that he thinks he can be capable of serving as Nairobi governor, senator, or even an MP in any constituency of his choice within Nairobi because he has strolled around and listened to those involved.

The Nairobi Senate seat is expected to attract strong competition as leaders position themselves ahead of the 2027 elections.
