The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has arraigned a man accused of killing his brother in Kakamega County.
Denmark Muchiti Abung’ana was charged before the Kakamega High Court with the murder of Silas Shihemi Abung’ana.
The prosecution told the court that the incident occurred at around 8pm at Masiakali Village in Kakamega County.
He was charged with murder contrary to Section 203 as read with Section 204 of the Penal Code.
The court heard that the deceased was a well-known footballer who was attached to Kakamega Homeboyz Football Club at the time of his death.
When the charge was read before Justice Alice Bett, the accused denied the offence.
The court ordered that he be remanded in custody pending a ruling on his bail application.
The ruling is scheduled for March 16, 2026.
