Security agencies in Meru and Isiolo counties have recovered 100 goats that had been stolen from Mbataru area in Tigania East, in an operation linked to ongoing efforts to curb banditry and livestock theft.
Police officers, acting on intelligence and following up on the reported theft, traced the animals to the Manyatta Zebra Grazing Zone, where they were successfully recovered.
Authorities said the operation was part of sustained patrols and coordinated security efforts in the region aimed at preventing livestock theft and protecting local livelihoods.

The recovered goats were positively identified by their owner and later handed over in the presence of local administration officials.
Police noted that the recovery underscores the importance of intelligence-led operations and collaboration between security agencies in addressing stock theft, which remains a concern in parts of northern and eastern Kenya.
The National Police Service has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order in affected areas, stating that operations will continue to deter criminal activity and safeguard communities.
