Two suspects have been arrested in Rongai following an intelligence-led operation that led to the recovery of a firearm previously stolen from a police officer.
Detectives from Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Kajiado North, working jointly with officers from Ngong Police Station, conducted coordinated raids in Kware and Mandazi Road areas, resulting in the arrest of Cyrus Mureithi Mburu, 54, and Peter Kangethe, 49.
According to investigators, a search at Mburu’s residence led to the recovery of a magazine loaded with 15 rounds of 9mm ammunition and a half-litre of gun oil.

Further search operations resulted in the recovery of a Ceska pistol, serial number F9418, which had earlier been robbed from an officer attached to the Security of Government Buildings (SGB).
Detectives also recovered two imitation firearms, a pair of handcuffs, keys and a Maasai sword, all of which have been secured as exhibits.
The suspects are currently being held at Ngong Police Station and are expected to be arraigned in court as investigations continue.
The DCI said it remains committed to safeguarding the public, protecting government assets and pursuing individuals involved in criminal activities.
