According to police, officers from the Kenya Police Service attached to Dandora Police Station were on patrol along Councillor Opundo Road when they encountered three individuals allegedly robbing members of the public.
The officers challenged the suspects, prompting one of them to draw a firearm and fire towards the officers. Police responded, and one suspect was subdued during the confrontation, while the other two fled on foot towards the Maili Saba area.
A search conducted at the scene led to the recovery of a Tokarev pistol loaded with two rounds of 9mm ammunition. Officers also recovered a military knife and two mobile phones believed to be linked to the suspects.
The scene has since been processed, and the body of the deceased suspect was moved to the Nairobi City Mortuary pending identification and post-mortem examination.
