Osotsi Warns Linda Mwananchi Members Against Supporting Finance Bill 2026

Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi has warned members of the Linda Mwananchi movement against supporting the Finance Bill 2026, saying those who vote in favour of the proposed legislation risk expulsion from the movement.

In a strongly worded statement, Osotsi said any member affiliated with Linda Mwananchi who backs the bill in Parliament would face disciplinary action, insisting the movement remains opposed to measures it believes place additional burden on ordinary Kenyans.

“Any Linda Mwananchi member who votes yes to the Finance Bill 2026 will be expelled from the movement,” Osotsi said.

The senator’s remarks come amid growing political debate and public scrutiny over the proposed Finance Bill, which has attracted criticism from sections of leaders, activists and citizens over concerns about its economic impact.

Osotsi’s warning signals increasing pressure on political leaders aligned with the movement as Parliament prepares to debate and vote on the controversial proposals.

The Finance Bill 2026 continues to trigger mixed reactions across the political divide, with supporters defending some of its measures as necessary for revenue generation, while critics argue certain proposals could further strain households already grappling with the high cost of living.
