On Friday the rapper Lil Wayne pleaded guilty to having illegally carried a gold –plated hand gun and ammunition as a felon while travelling on a private jet last year
“Your honor I plead guilty, the rapper who is 38 told the judge during a virtual hearing in a federal court in Miami.
In 2007 he was convicted of a gun charge, Lil Wayne faces up to 10 years in prison when he gets sentenced on 28th January 2021. Though he pleading guilty to actually having the gun may have him getting a lighter sentence
Lil Wayne who recently released a new mix tape ‘no ceilings 3’ was also a subject of litigation in civil court. A veteran entertainment lawyer sued the rapper for more than $20million claiming he was not fully compensated for his management role in 2018 amidst a contract dispute between Lil Wayne and cash money records and universal music group
In addition to the gun authorities say they found cocaine, marijuana, ecstasy, heroin, painkillers and prescription-strength cough syrup and also $26000 in cash and he was not charged for drug possession
Recently Lil Wayne appeared with president Trump and endorse him shortly before election. His lawyer however Howard said he is not aware of anyone from the white house intervening for lil Wayne’s behalf and also an US attorney called to confirm that no one intervened for Wayne of hiss current charges
