Impeached Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has been directed to present himself at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to record a statement over allegations against Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho.
The summon comes at the backlog of accusations that Sonko, alongside PS Kibicho, participated in a Sabotaging electoral violence in 2017.
Kibicho, who wrote down his statement concerning the allegations, said he will file a defamation and character assassination suit against the Sonko.
The claims were made as sort of a self-confession by Sonko during a rally in Dagoretti South constituency on Sunday, on how the deep state sabotages the opposition.
Sonko said he has crucial evidence on a plot to assassinate opposition leader Raila Odinga, and efforts by the government to streamline the opposition.
“I therefore look forward to an invitation from the DCI to record my statement, and for the PS to move to court quickly so that I can table ALL the evidence I have for Kenyans to see and judge for themselves.” Sonko said.
