Nairobi is the most affected by this third wave of this deadly virus as it records 730 of the new infections. The ministry of health has warned people on the rising cases and the strained health care system.

The Kibera court has sentenced 57 people to a week of community service across the city for violating the COVID-19 protocols.

The 57 people will be expected to report for the community service from 8am to 5pm daily and they will be under the supervision of the Nairobi Metropolitan Service. From now henceforth this will be the manual punishment for Nairobi residents who are caught flaunting the COVID—19 regulations.

Since Nairobi County has been recording the largest number of cases, the government has started to take action on the citizens who violate the COVID-19 protocols.

The tasks aligned for them as punishment of their mistakes include cleaning up of Marikiti and Muthurua Markets, Globe Roundabout and Nairobi River for an entire week.

Those who will not abide by the court orders by not showing up and taking their assigned tasks will be re-arrested and arraigned in court for stiffer punishment according to the Nairobi Metropolitan Services.
