The US has vowed to provide more assistance to India as it battles an escalating COVID-19 pandemic that has seen the nation register world record high case counts for four days in a row.
The United States, which has recorded more coronavirus deaths than any other nation, expressed grave concern about the increase in India.
The wave of cases has left hospitals running out of critical oxygen supplies and the government has deployed military planes and trains to get oxygen to New Delhi not only from other parts of the country but also overseas.
