The Kremlin announced Tuesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin is going into self-isolation due to coronavirus outbreaks in his inner entourage.

Putin made the statement during a phone chat with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, according to the Kremlin.

Putin has gotten two doses of the Russian coronavirus vaccination Sputnik V, which he received in April.

On Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin attended a number of public engagements. He visited with Russian Paralympians, took part in military drills with Belarus, and met with Syrian President Bashar Assad.

When asked if Putin had tested negative for the virus, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov replied, “Of course, Putin has tested negative for the virus.”
