Varsity Placements Set For Review

The government intends to review university and college placement criteria.

This is to improve equity and fairness and to assist in resolving any issues that may arise as a result of the process.

Dr Agnes Mercy Wahome, CEO of Kenya University and Colleges Central Placement Services (KUCCPS), said her organization was in regular contact with key education stakeholders to address emerging challenges in the career development.

She reaffirmed KUCCPS’ commitment to ensuring that high-quality courses are available at all training institutions across the country.

Dr. Wahome urged parents and guardians to be proactive in advising their children on subject choices early enough to avoid uncertainty during course selection due to a lack of suitable subject combinations, which impacts the majority of candidates.

The CEO urged the media to raise public awareness and educate the public about career development by spotlighting education challenges on a regular basis.
