Uhuru Aide Destined For Machakos Governor

Battle Royale is on in Machakos County. President Uhuru Kenyatta’s right-hand man Nzioka Waita is destined to vie for Machakos Governor sear.

He is under pressure to succeed Dr Alfred Mutua as his boss prepares to exit State House in 2022.

The World Safari Rally ace will square it out with Wavinya Ndeti, Patrick Makau, Florence Mwangangi, Francis Maliti and UDA and Hustler banker Johnstone Muthama.

Waita is a lawyer and Corporate titan who was fished from Safaricom to head the Presidential Delivery Unit (PDU), and deputy the head of the civil service in 2015.

He was instrumental in the privatisation of Safaricom, spearheaded the clean of Athi River and the establishment of the Nairobi Metropolitan Services(NMS).

Waita comes from Kalama Sub County, Kyangala village.

But the Waita’s have a home in Mwanyani, Machakos County where his late dad and first African Caltex Oil CEO Raphael Waita is buried.

Mwangangi has been a commissioner of the Judicial Service Commission.

She hails from Kathiani Constituency but has settled at Kinanie, Athi River.

She is the mother of the high flying Health CAS Mwangangi.

The family runs a hotel business at Mlolongo.
