Kenyan passport holders cannot travel to 40 countries, New report reveals
According to a report by Henley Passport Index, the current figure is down from 43 in October 2020 and 54 in July 2020.
Kenyans have been locked out of dozens of destinations at a time when other countries are loosening travel restrictions as a result of higher Covid-19 vaccines.
Some of the countries include Taiwan, Israel, Sweden, Vatican City, South Korea, Singapore, Poland, and Cambodia.
The disclosures were made in the final report of the Henley Passport Index, which has been monitoring the world’s most travel-friendly passports since 2006.

“This year’s Passport Index data offers a picture of a world on the mend, bolstered by greater access to vaccines and an intrinsic desire to roam, meet, and connect around the globe.”
Kenya is in the midst of a high spike in cases of Covid-19 infections, as well as an increase in hospital admissions.
The positivity rate increased by a factor of ten from last month, prompting concerns among health experts.
Kenya has so far vaccinated 14.4% of its adult population so far, significantly ahead of schedule.
