More security personnel have been sent to man the Lamu-Garissa road after suspected al-shabaab terrorists torched eight trucks belonging to a Lapsset contractor.
The eight torched vehicles belonged to China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) and were undertaking a project at Omolo-Bodhei area on the Lamu- Garissa highway.
The site was being manned by the military.
The terrorists detonated explosive and caused massive losses at the parking lot of the company.
No injury was reported in the incident which comes amid ongoing operation in the region to tame terror related attacks.
Up to 20 people have been killed in the area in attacks also linked to local politics.
