The administration has begun the process of transferring hundreds of students who are scheduled to take national exams in March 2022.

Rift Valley Regional Commissioner Mohammed Maalim told the press on Sunday, February 20, that he had began discussions with Education stakeholders.

He explained that the transfer is intended to ensure that all national test students from both primary and secondary schools take the exams without interruptions.

Banditry attacks on 10 schools in Baringo and Elgeyo Marakwet counties prompted the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Education to intervene.

This development came only days after 15 Tot High School students were injured in a bandit attack.

On the evening of Thursday, February 17, armed gunmen assaulted their school buses as students were returning from a school excursion.

The driver was killed during the attack on the Tot – Arror Road in Elgeyo Marakwet County. The kids were divided into three buses.

In addition, two instructors, a male and female, are in serious condition after being shot numerous times, despite the fact that authorities have initiated a manhunt for the culprits.
