Rwandan Fugitive Set For Extradition

The office of the directorate of public prosecution through Catherine Mwaniki senior counsel has today closed extradition miscellaneous file to pave way for the arrest of Rwanda fugitive criminal in Kenya.

“Your honor we have now received requisite extradition request from Rwanda, and having received the same we pray that this matter be marked as closed. The extradition request has already been filed, we will now be proceeding in the respective Court.” Submitted state Counsel Mwaniki.

This comes days after the ODPP confirmed receiving extradition documents from Rwanda to initiate extradition process of Mr. Nathan Loyd Ndungu.

Mr. Nathan was convicted by a Rwandan court in 2018 to serve 5 years in prison but chose to evade justice by flying to Kenya.

It is expected that upon success of the extradition case, Mr. Nathan will be handed over to INTERPOL who will inturn hand him over to Rwanda for his jail term.
