Nzioka Waita has told off fake news reports of an alleged decision to shelve his Machakos governorship ambitions.

In a report aired on NTV, the former State House Chief of Staff is said to have struck a deal to drop his run for governor, a claim he has since refuted.

Nzioka Waita blasted the report, claiming his rivals were panicking.

“It appears that the my opponents are in full panic mode ..having seen the latest Machakos Gubernatorial race polls for themselves & how their candidate’s lead has been decimated by a first timer…. in 5/8 sub-counties to a single digit margin…….”

Nzioka Waita has been on a charm offensive, criss-crossing Machakos county despite insults hurled at him over his bid.

In his campaign trail, the aspiring governor has reitarated that the county was void of an effective leader.

“Machakos is in need of an administrator who will unlock the full potential of this marvelous county. We dont need politicians who want to misuse their privilages.” Waita spoke during a baraza with Matungulu ward representatives.

The Machakos gubernatorial race has been sighted as the hottest race, only second to the State House duel.

Waita is gunning for the position alongside Wavinya Ndeti (Former Transport CAS), Patrick Makau (MP, Mavoko) and Machakos Speaker Florence Mwangangi.
