An advocate who was arrested on March 31, 2022 at KICC while using the presidential staircase has been arraigned in court.
Lawyer Kincy Nangami Wafula was intercepted by police officers and defied orders from OCS Catherine Otieno in charge of KICC and Sergeant Susan Misoi who directed her to refrain from using the staircase.
Instead, she proceeded to call them different sorts of abusive terms with the intent to provoke a breach of peace.
Further, she is charged with the offense of resisting arrest contrary to the Law.
The prosecution submitted that Advocate Nangami resisted arrest by Sergeant Susan Misoi and PC Joseph Wachira who at the said time was acting in the due execution of their duty.
The accused advocate denied all the charges and their particulars before Magistrate Ondieki of Milimani Law Courts and was released on a personal bail of Ksh 20,000.
