Igathe-Kaloki To Take On Sakaja For Nairobi Governor

The Azimio-One Kenya Alliance has officially unveiled its political lineup for Nairobi City County ahead of the August 9, General Election.

During the unveiling announced at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) on Friday, Odinga who was flanked by Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka announced that Polycarp Igathe will fly the Governor’s flag in the elections and will be deputized by Philip Kaloki.

“Governor Candidate Nairobi is Polycarp Igathe and will be deputized by Prof. Philip Kaloki. Senate candidate is ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna, and Women Rep candidate will be Esther Passaris,” Raila said.

Westlands Member of Parliament Tim Wanyonyi who was also vying for the city’s top seat has now dropped his bid to back the candidature of the former Equity Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Igathe.

KNCCI president Fred Ngatia will be appointed as President Uhuru Kenyatta’s special envoy for trade.

The new Azimio lineup will now face the Kenya Kwanza Alliance team on the ballot which is led by Senator Johnson Sakaja as the Gubernatorial candidate, Bishop Margaret Wanjiru as the senator and Millicent Omanga who is vying for Woman Rep.
