A World Victory Church Bishop in Thika was arraigned in court today where he was charged with stealing from his colleague.
Bishop Martin Muraya Sammy is said to have obtained Ksh 730,000 from Bishop Samwel Mburu Kerige to supply anointing oil and Seth molecules.
According to the charge, Bishop Muraya approached his colleague on diverse dates between November 9 and 13, 2020 where he obtained the said cash.
Bishop Muraya pretended that he was in a position of supplying anointing oil and Seth molecules to Bishop Mburu of another branch of the church in Thika a fact he knew to be false.
The complainant Bishop in the case claims that his colleague disappeared into thin air after obtaining the money.
However, in rebut, the accused Bishop claims to be also a victim of same Cartels who frauded his fellow shepherd and not the thief as it is alleged in the police file.
He therefore denied particulars of the charge before Magistrate Micheni Wendy of Milimani Law courts. The accused through his Advocate pleaded with the court to release him on a reasonable cash bail pending hearing and determination of the case.
Nevertheless, the court released him on a bond of Ksh 500,000 with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 300,000.
