Machakos governor-aspirant Nzioka Waita is emerging a formidable force to replace Dr. Alfred Mutua, a new poll has revealed.
Mizani Africa in its latest opinion poll, ranked Former Transport CAS Wavinya Ndeti as the most preferred governor, at 48.3% with Nzioka coming in at a close second with 35.5%.
The poll had earlier ranked first time politician and CCU Party leader Waita at a mere 1 percent with many questioning the stamina of the new entrant.
The former State House Chief of Staff joined hands with Speaker Hon. Florence Mwangangi on a heavy campaign in rural Machakos.
Deputy governor Maliti came in at third with 8% while UDA Chairman Johnstone Muthama came in at a distant fourth despite his party being ranked the most popular in Kenya.
