WIPER gubernatorial candidate Julius Malombe has been allowed by the IEBC to run for Governor of Kitui in the August 9 General Election.
The commission set a deadline for candidates to submit their candidacy papers to the CRO for clearance on June 4 and 7.
The Kitui Gubernatorial Nomination Certificate issued to Malombe by the Wiper Party was annulled by the High Court after it was established that it was done unlawfully and in violation of the law, and it was ordered that a new nomination be performed.
After Malombe was given a direct nomination by party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, former High Commissioner to Uganda Kiema Kilonzo, who was also pursuing the Kitui governor seat under a Wiper ticket, approached the tribunal.
