
According to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), 22,120,458 people are registered to vote in the August General Election.
The announcement was made by the Commission’s chairman, Wafula Chebukati, following the completion of the KPMG audit of the Voters Register.
Chebukati stated at a press conference on Monday that 46,232 polling stations will be used during the elections.
Chebukati stated that female voters are still under-registered, accounting for 49.12 per cent of those eligible to vote, while male voters account for 50.88 per cent.
He also revealed that 246,265 deceased voters were removed from the voter rolls.
According to the audit, 0.05 per cent of registered voters live in the diaspora.
