Cop’s Gun Snatched, Used To Terrorize City Residents For 3 Years

Using the pistol, the gangsters allegedly stole over Sh10 million from MPESA agents alone.

DCI detectives have solved a mystery in which a firearm was stolen from a cop in 2019 and used to terrorize residents in Nairobi County.

The DCI documented the account of events that occurred on June 20, 2019, in Parklands, Nairobi, in chilling revelations.

At around 10 a.m., a report was filed at Parklands police station about a male who was lying motionless beside Mtama road in Highridge, Parklands.

After receiving the report, the police rushed to the scene and discovered a middle-aged man lying unconscious, only to discover that it was their colleague who was stationed at Riruta for special duties.

The officer was taken to Avenue Hospital before being transferred to Nairobi West Hospital because his condition had deteriorated.

The officer had been a victim of a vicious gang of women who were spiking revelers’ drinks, according to subsequent investigations.

Apparently, the officer’s drink was spiked, and he was robbed of valuables, including a government-issued firearm, Jericho Pistol Serial Number KE KP44330654. As a result, residents of Nairobi estates have been terrorized by the pistol.

“Since its disappearance, the firearm has been the cause of untold suffering to city residents. It has been used to commit 28 robbery with violence incidents in Kasarani, Makadara, Kayole, Kamukunji, Dandora, Buruburu, Ruai, Kikuyu, Embakasi and Karatina,’ the DCI said.

It’s worth noting that detectives unmasked the identities of the women who knocked the officer out, connecting them to a dangerous drink-spiking syndicate led by slain gangster Samuel Mugota.

Using the pistol, the gangsters allegedly stole over Sh10 million from MPESA agents alone.

The firearm has also been linked to at least 28 incidents involving MPESA stores. So far, three of the thugs have been killed, and the firearm has been recovered.
